Training

Help teach technology to nonprofits! HandsOn Tech Chicago will conduct free trainings for hundreds of nonprofits over the next year on a variety of tech-related topics. These trainings will be held in a number of as-of-yet undetermined locations, which will include locations in downtown Chicago as well as our base of operations at HandsOn Suburban Chicago in Arlington Heights. The topics for the trainings will be determined primarily through a community mapping survey (link here) which we encourage all area nonprofits to complete.

These trainings will also be made available for free on our website here.

Volunteers will teach or help to teach many of these training sessions throughout the year. We expect a one-time commitment of 1-2 hours for a training. The volunteer will be able to choose from a variety of courses, or they can suggest material they feel comfortable teaching. Examples of what a volunteer could teach include cloud-based software (e.g. Google Docs, Office 365, etc.), online advertising, or collaborative and shared file storage (e.g. DropBox, Google Doc
storage, SkyDrive, etc.)

To become a volunteer please see our Volunteer section here.

A calendar of training events can be found here, and a map of all training
locations may be found here.
