2010 Impact Awards
Volunteers, non-profit professionals and distinguished guests gathered at the Forest View Education Center today, April 12, to recognize the recipients of The Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago’s 2010 Impact Awards. These seven award recipients were nominated by members of the community and by The Volunteer Center (TVC) for the positive impact they made on the lives of others in 2009 through volunteering and supporting service initiatives.
The awards reception was headed by Mary Fitzgibbons, the Executive Director of TVC, who said that while volunteers serve without expecting recognition, she hopes the example of the award recipients will inspire others to get involved in their communities.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of the agencies we serve and really of the community as a whole,” she said. “Their efforts truly improve the lives of so many people in need.”
