On May 5, 2010 The Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago (TVC) is offering “Tapping Technology Resources,” a professional development workshop highlighting computer and web-based tools non-profits can use to expand their reach, become more efficient, and increase their impact. This interactive class includes basic “how-to” information about social media and other online tools, as well as recommendations from a panel of IT and technology experts on tools organizations can use for little or no cost.

Hosted by Mike Ewing, the Communications and Outreach Coordinator for TVC, the workshop will include lessons learned through real-world experience and basic resources organizations can use to connect with core constituencies. The panel of experts includes professionals who have been managing Information Technology and databases for decades, both in the professional and non-profit sector. Through a question and answer type approach, attendees should gain insights that they can immediately put to use.

The fee for this workshop is $30 for TVC member agencies and $60 for non-members. It will take place from 9 a.m. until noon at Forest View Education Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Rd., Arlington Hts, IL 60005.  A free continental breakfast will be served.  Seating is limited. For information regarding registration or to obtain information regarding dates and content of future classes, follow the link below or call TVC at 847-228-1320.
