The dedicated staff at The Volunteer Center repeatedly go above and beyond for each potential volunteer they work with to ensure they are providing a meaningful experience for each one of them. The Volunteer Center is an excellent resource to recruit and publicize our agency's volunteer needs…things are always handled in a professional and timely manner. We receive referrals who have been screened and match the needs of Shelter…they do an excellent job of recruiting volunteers from the community and matching them to the appropriate agency. A good example of how the center has helped our agency is our Holiday Gift Giving Program. We care for an average of 80 children a day…the Volunteer Center was instrumental in referring individuals in the community who were very generous. Students from a local high school bought gifts for over 40 children in our care. The holiday gifts were a tremendous help. It has been a pleasure to work with such caring people.

The Volunteer Center has been vital in assisting our agency to find volunteers to staff our advocacy program. A staff member calls our office on a regular basis to assess our volunteer needs and obtain dates for our training schedule. I have found them to be very efficient and professional…referrals are well informed about our agency and the job description of an advocate volunteer has been thoroughly explained. This saves me a great deal of time, and time is a precious commodity in a not-for-profit social service agency…The center also offers other beneficial services. It's continuing education on the topic of volunteer programs is a useful service. I was pleased to be a part of the Volunteer Award Program and Ceremony celebration and proud to see one of our hard working volunteers honored in a meaningful way. The Volunteer Center supports our work and is a wonderful, helpful service.
