Whether you want to help people in your community, or if you're required by a school, church, or club to serve, volunteering is a fun way to make a difference in your community. Volunteering also gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, gain experience and learn more about your favorite causes.

We maintain a special listing of volunteer opportunities available for youth throughout our community. You can also connect with other young people who are making a difference on our Youth In Action webpage.

Whether “skills-based” or “pro-bono”, many volunteers are using their professional skills to help area organizations make a difference in their community. There are many ways you can get involved:
  •  Volunteer your time and talents individually
  •  Gather a group of co-workers and do a group project
  •  Encourage your company to start a corporate volunteer program

Disaster Preparedness Volunteers

Whenever man-made or natural disasters strike a community, volunteers are right behind the first responders, looking to help those in need. Should such an event should occur, look to The Volunteer Center for ways you can help.

We also work closely with the Palatine Citizen Corps and other community organizations that are looking for volunteers. Whether you’re a doctor, social worker, or concerned citizen, we have a listing of opportunities.
